September 28th, 2023 marks the anniversary of Futebol Clube do Porto (FC Porto) In total, it has 130 years of history, of an institution highly representative of Invicta and which has accumulated, over the years, countless trophies that make the Porto community and a large “slice” of the city’s inhabitants proud.
The year was 1893, when the blue and white emblem was born. It is worth remembering that, at the time, at the end of the 19th century, the Diário Ilustrado had announced that "A club called Football Club do Porto was founded in Porto, which fills the gap that existed in the north of the country for an association for players of that specialty", The main ambassador of Porto's genesis was António Nicolau d'Almeida, who was a young Port wine merchant, another of the great symbols of the city that, as the club's anthem says, "in history, gave its name to Portugal.
