Juventus head coach  Marcello Lippi,progress could not defend its league title from 2002-03, and tumbled down to third in the standings. In Europe competition, Juventus crashed in the first knockout round, lost to Deportivo La Coruna both legs 0-1, and deservedly crashed out of the competition.
